One of THE most difficult tasks we place on Pastors/Youth Pastors today is to bring in a comedian who will entertain the entire church without the fear of responding to weeks of hate mail.

God has blessed David Dean with the gift of making people laugh on a full-time basis for over 22 years. Comedy that is family friendly, fast paced and most important..clean. Not corny, but clean.

David says, “There is nothing that thrills my heart more than looking out into an audience and seeing dads and their sons hunched over laughing. Moms and daughters wiping tears from their eyes. I love it because I never experienced that with my own parents. We laughed..just never in church.”

David honed his talent in the late 80’s at the famous Second City School of Improvisational Comedy in Chicago. (Yes..he was a believer!). It was there where he was taught to think quick on his feet and learn to play off the audience. Eventually, God began opening doors throughout the Chicago-land area for David to come and share his humor at faith based events. Hosts not only wanted the laughter, they wanted David to talk about his walk with Christ. That chapter in his life taught him comedy is simply a platform for talking about Jesus.

David is a frequent performer, friend and trusted opening act for some of today’s biggest known clean comedians and speakers. Ken Davis, Chonda Pierce, Mark Gungor and more call on him to open for many of their shows. Watch a comedy clip

David rarely shys away from any type of setting:
Family comedy night to be used as an outreach? His specialty.
Mens Event? A nightmare for most comics. David will TEACH them how to laugh.
Womens Event? Make sure the ladies bring Kleenex and depends.
Youth conference/weekend retreat? Your students will be laughing one minute and learning biblical truths the next. Again…comedy is the platform.
Banquets/Fund raisers? Surveys have shown that the more an audience laughs..the more they give. This one is the deal-maker.

Lets be honest…you want your audience to be proud of the fact that you brought David in and he hit a home run for you. The show will be enjoyed by all ages. Strangers will stop you at the local coffee shop and say, “You probably don’t know me, but we came to the comedy night at your church and I have never laughed so hard in my life. And I needed it so much. Thanks.” Because of God, these are the type of e-mails that are forwarded to David from Pastors across the country.

Over the past 6 years, David has hosted week long mission trips 4-5 times a year to the Dominican Republic. This has been a labor of love for the ministry board of “David Dean’s Mission Possible”.

David and Saint Betsy, his wife of 22 years, live in Huntington, Indiana with their 17 yr old daughter, Hannah-Banana from Indiana. Their son Alex, 20, is currently serving with the United States Army.
