Hurtful Humor

The following is an email I received recently from a gig I did two and half years ago. It made me realize that either not everyone has a sense of humor OR not everyone is going to leave my show happy.

Enjoy!

Hello David,
About a year ago you came to _______ Church in ______, WI.  I invited my Lutheran aunt to my church for the first time.  She doesn’t have a great sense of humor (big understatement).

You made a Lutheran joke which greatly offended her and still offends her.
Any chance you have something you can send out as an apology for hurting her feelings?

Thanks!
This is the email I sent to her:
How about a link to the YouTube clip of me doing that Lutheran joke?

This is the look I have when it comes to technology, media, social networking and trying to watch a movie on my DVD player.
It’s also the look I get from parents when I tell them my good friend and I wrote a book explaining to parents the importance of talking to their kids about the delicate subject of sex. Specifically….online. Which, statistically, probably where your child is right now.
Craig Gross and myself aren’t experts in this field. But, his kids are young and mine are grown so we have combined what he is using now and what I have used in order to stay on top of what our children are doing in the high-tech world we now live in.
Visit the link below and order your copy today. Then blog it, tweet it and facebook it. Just don’t ask me how to run your DVD player.
